Please don't cry CNN&Democrats ...-He lied and said quote " this kid is MAGA ",.. when he and everyone else already knew that he was in a gay relationship with his roommate who was in the process of transitioning from male to female. Then he said, "republicans are doing everything they can to capitalize off charlie kirk's death". Always remember folks, what freedom of speech means, freedom of speech means. It means the government can't arrest you and send you to jail for having an opinion. It doesn't mean that you don't suffer consequences for what you say. You have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But you don't have the right to say anything you want and not suffer any societal consequences for that speech.

Kimmel was making untrue statements.

Not only distorting how anything MAGA will do will be a propaganda move, but also clearly stating that the murderer is part of MAGA, which is not true.

Post, please, why are you omitting such an obvious statement.

Individual is spreading dangerous misinformation from quite a public pulpit, while fully knowing that it will create disruption.

This is not about free speech. This is about basic human decency and doing what people are supposed to do in his position—entertain NOT rabble rouse and stir the pot and get all lathered up over smithing a he may disagree with. He was never funny and I never understood how he was even on tv to begin with. His hate was disturbing ...I don't understand why anyone ever, and especially on any news media or entertainment tv, would LAUGH a murder of a good person who was a father, husband and son who never did anything except express his views. These people who make their shows about the left who villify anyone who is not a democrat should be ashamed.

The First Amendment grants him the right to say what he thinks. However, there is no mention of the consequences from his foolish slip of the tongue.

There are no free speech issues. He said what he wanted to say, nobody stopped him. It was an intentional lie.

There are regulations for over the air related to the public interest. Intentionally spreading lies is not in the best interest of the public.

As for the public outcry over his lies, people are only exercising their free speech rights.

Nobody is above the law.

Repeat: Kimmel outright lied about the assassin and his political beliefs and ideology. It should be completely up to his employer whether he keeps his job or not. If he were honest and stated there are extremists on both sides then he probably would have kept his job. Actions have consequences, especially for those that lie.

This is NOT a free speech issue. If one says something that can potentially hurt or actually does hurt one's employer's product/reputation, one risks getting canned as a result.

At Jay Leno's peak (1997) he averaged around over 6 million viewers nightly. During 2023 and 2024 Kimmel's nightly audience was 1.6 million to 1.8 million total viewers. By September 2025, the show's total viewership had fallen to 1.104 million. Any further questions? Any more "Trump did it!" conspiracy theories?

One million viewers in a country of 350 million is an embarrassment. Plus Kimmel was always making gross political comments that showed up in various places, further embarrassing his employers.

Kimmel wasn't cancelled. He was fired.

Jimmy put Nextar’s merger at risk so Nextar dropped him which would kill his ratings and ad revenue so he deserved to be fired for business reasons. Regarding politics, he didn’t issue a simple opinion, he straight up lied about the assassin being MAGA. Lying to influence political opinion is not in the public interest according to the FCC. The left will spin this as free speech, but the common sense public no longer believes the left.

Firings don’t just drop out of the sky — they happen because of documented violations of codes of conduct, contractual obligations, or the law. And believe me, these companies know the law inside and out, because the last thing they want is a lawsuit. You’ll see headlines about people saying they’ll sue, but it’ll go nowhere once the free speech vs. workplace distinction is laid out. Sure, someone may feel they’re standing up for what’s right, fine — but institutions have to enforce their policies and legal standards. This isn’t about what we think — it’s about the law. Frankly, I’m stunned at what I’ve read on social media this past week. Not being snobby here, but the level of ignorance about free speech, especially when it comes to people’s paychecks, is staggering.

He had abysmal ratings but still thought it was a good idea to anger Nextar, which refused to air his show. ABC couldn't see the wisdom of keeping this feeble program on life support. (The problem with these celebrities is they encircle themselves with people who they think represent mainstream America. Ratings were lousy, the only reason they are on is what else do you broadcast at 11:30 p m with all the streaming options competition. )

He's now free to take his „massive talents „ to any media outlet that cares to hire him. Welcome to the marketplace of free ideas.(Go join Don Lemon and Joy(less) Reid on the podcast circuit. I suspect his viewer numbers will be lower than the 'watch grass grow' podcast. )

The company pulled the show—the End. The company is a business, and now that they see their customer base has vastly different values than those of this show. Disney has been losing customers for its nonsense promotion of divisive politics for long enough.

The National Networks sell their programming to local stations that are owned by a Companies like Sinclair. Those Companies were all informing Disney / ABC that they were no longer capable of selling the Kimmel show to their local affiliate. The ratings were below Colbert and they were losing local advertising revenue making the show unpopular for local stations. With low viewership and now the loss of a major portion of their local stations broadcasting the Kimmel show Kimmel had to go. It has nothing to do with the First Amendment or Trump or Conservatives wanting to sensor Kimmel. It had to do with one thing,. Like Colbert, purely a dollars and business decision.

For the producer who is not so bright to say this, “This is clearly the government overreaching. There’s no such thing as free speech in America, if the government can lean on companies to stop any content they don’t like.” maybe this is the reason why the show was just pulled.

Free speech is when Jimmy can stand on his street corner and spew as much hate and lies as he likes.

Free speech is NOT when you’re being paid millions to do an entertainment late night show and you’re using the platform, not run or owned by you to spew your hate, rhetoric and lies.

ABC is not your personal platform to say whatever you wish. You’re being paid to do a job and if your contract which includes “a morality clause” is not being met then you are going to be let go. Now, add on affiliates who pay ABC to air your show around the country in their specific cities are no longer going to air it, then ABC is losing millions and millions of dollars.

It’s very simple in TV land.

There are millions of people mourning Kirk’s death and he made jokes about it. Watch the video! When Kimmel made his absurd comment none of his sheep in the studio audience reacted. Even they knew it was over the top and untrue. Sinclair and Nexstar absolutely made the right decision.

(Instead of doubling down in their liberal morass and attacking the growing conservatism in this country like Kimmel did constantly, the smart liberals like Bill Maher are eschewing the radical left and looking to pursue the truth. )

Liberals and Progressives just don’t read the signs. Times are different now.

Their ideology becomes toxic, as now „the zeitgeist” has changed, and people are tired of it.

It’s just not profitable anymore to have endless ‘I hate Trump ‘ monologues each night.

It’s not 2016 anymore- just get over it already. It’s boring now.

And if I am right, that goes to their cult-like insistence that they never engage in civil debate or friendly exchanges of ideas with conservatives; that they never access conservative media or read conservative books, or engage in open exchange of controversial ideas with students who may disagree with them on our campuses.

First of all Charlie Kirk was assassinated no one should make fun of or laugh that a man was killed. A husband and father of two young children .

Repeat...Repeat: A world where people celebrete the death of Charlie Kirk is a sick world. That is just demonic and sick.  I don’t know much about victories, but I am sure of one thing, that compassion is a victory of the human spirit.
